Amidzic Consulting is a company that specializes in the identification of mental talent in sports. It provides information that can help team managements, coaches and athletes to analyze an athlete's future professional sport career chances.

Talent is a very complex phenomenon that has never been completely explained. The only thing that is certain is that for the discovery and development of sport talent, a combination of several factors must be taken into account: physical, mental and personal.

Model of sport talent

In some sports, such as light athletics or swimming, mental (cognitive) talent is less important, but in sports that require athletes to anticipate their opponents' actions, such as soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis, etc., mental talent is the key component that influences a player's success. Visual observation, the traditional selection method, is a very subjective and inefficient way of identifying mentally talented players, since coaches need a couple of years to reach a conclusion.

Amidzic Brain Assessment™ is a testing method for the identification of mental talent that measures brain activity by using electroencephalography (EEG, Medicom-MTD). This method is based on Dr. Ognjen Amidzic’s discovery that average and gifted athletes use different parts of the brain in performing the same task. Long-term studies have shown that the training process cannot change pronounced differences in the magnitude and distribution of brain activity, which means that it is very probable that mental talent is genetically determined and thus can be measured at the start of the training process.
